From Small Shelter to Sanctuary: Mbarande Revival Church Marks Journey of Faith
The Solomon Islands Revival Fellowship has officially dedicated a new church in Mbarande, Guadalcanal Province, marking a significant milestone for a faith community that has grown from a small gathering into a place of worship for many.
The dedication ceremony, held on Saturday, 12 July, brought together church members from Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Australia, celebrating a journey of faith, sacrifice, and spiritual growth.
After finding Jesus in 2017 while living at GPPOL, Patson began a new chapter of his life centred on faith and service.
After his life was transformed through faith, he returned to Mbarande and started a small group of believers worshipping in a simple shelter at his village, igniting a revival in his community.
The small gathering continued to grow, creating the need for a permanent place where members could worship, fellowship, and strengthen their faith.
In 2025, Patson committed his family’s savings, including tithes, towards building a new church.
By 2026, that vision became a reality with the dedication of the new Mbarande Revival Church.
“For me, this is the right thing to do — to invest in God’s church. Everything I have comes from Him, and I am giving my treasures back to Him. Our church members are growing, and this church is for them. I have also seen some of my siblings who had stopped attending church showing interest in coming back,” Mr Patson said.
The new church now stands as a symbol of faith and sacrifice, providing a permanent place of worship for the people of Mbarande and future generations.
The building is also equipped with solar power, water, and sanitation facilities, creating a safe and sustainable environment for worship and community activities.
The dedication ceremony also marked a powerful moment of spiritual renewal, with 17 young people baptised during the event. About 100 people responded to the altar call, showing a strong commitment to faith and spiritual transformation.
A church leader from Australia, Pastor Tim Rogers led the official dedication prayer, joining members from across the region in celebrating the growth of the Revival Fellowship and the opening of the new church.
The Mbarande church dedication comes ahead of the Solomon Islands Revival Fellowship Rally, which will be held from 16–19 July at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
Organisers are inviting people across Honiara and surrounding communities to attend and hear inspiring testimonies of how God continues to transform lives of individuals in Revival Church across the pacific.
The story of Mbarande Revival Church is a reminder that one transformed life can inspire a community. From a simple shelter to a new sanctuary, the church continues to grow as a place of hope, faith, and revival.
