YECSI Partner with King Solomon Hotel for Monthly Sunday Arts & Crafts Market

Young entrepreneurs in Honiara will soon have a new platform to showcase their talents and grow their businesses following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands (YECSI) and the King Solomon Hotel.

The agreement, signed today at the hotel’s Troppo Restaurant, formalises a partnership to host a Monthly Sunday Arts and Crafts Market at the King Solomon Hotel.

The MOU was signed by Hotel Manager Ms Carolyn Blacklock and YECSI Vice Chairlady Ms Debbie Lukisi.

Speaking at the signing, Ms Lukisi acknowledged the strong support shown by the hotel’s management in endorsing YECSI’s proposal.

She said the partnership offers a meaningful opportunity to begin 2026 on a positive and empowering note for young entrepreneurs.

“This collaboration creates an accessible and supportive space for our members to promote and market their products while building confidence and business skills,” Ms Lukisi said.

Moses Jnr Aumana, Coordinator of the Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands, described the partnership as a practical step toward strengthening youth-led businesses and creating sustainable market access for young entrepreneurs.

“This partnership is about creating real opportunities for young entrepreneurs to step forward with confidence. The Monthly Sunday Arts and Crafts Market will give our members consistent exposure, practical experience, and a supportive space to grow their businesses while contributing to the local economy.”

The first Sunday Arts and Crafts Market is scheduled for 8 March, aligning with the global celebration of International Women's Day.

The public is warmly invited to attend and show support, particularly for young female entrepreneurs who will be showcasing a variety of handmade products and creative works.

King Solomon Hotel management expressed confidence that the initiative will not only provide business exposure for young entrepreneurs but also enhance community engagement by offering residents and visitors a vibrant local market experience.

YECSI continues to position itself as a proactive platform dedicated to creating opportunities for young business owners across the Solomon Islands.

The new partnership marks another important step in strengthening youth entrepreneurship and supporting local talent within the community.
