Australia Awards Alumni Support Grants Now Open for 2025

Australia Awards Solomon Islands has launched the 2025 Alumni Support Grants, offering Australia Awards alumni a chance to secure funding for community-driven projects that support development across the country.

Under this year’s program, individual alumni can access up to AUD 5,000, while groups of alumni can apply for up to AUD 10,000. Projects that partner with an Australian organisation, university, or individual are also eligible for additional funding — AUD 3,000 for individuals and AUD 5,000 for groups.

The grants aim to empower alumni to drive initiatives that:

  • Promote innovative ideas and community events such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Build capacity and improve socio-economic wellbeing, particularly for marginalised communities.
  •  Advance gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion.
  • Establish Communities of Practice (COPs) that align with Solomon Islands’ development priorities.

However, construction-related projects are not eligible for funding.

The program is open to anyone who has studied in Australia or the Pacific under the Australia Awards Scholarship. Applications close on 22 September 2025.

An online information session will be held on 28 August 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, to guide interested alumni through the application process.

Thirteen young entrepreneurs from the Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands (YECSI) have strengthened their business and customer service skills after completing a Collaborative Customer Care course with the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC).
