Australia Awards Alumni Support Grants are open now.

Australia Awards Solomon Islands is excited to announce an exciting grant opportunity for Australia Awards Alumni. Grants of up to AUD5,000 are available to individual Alumni and AUD 10,000 to groups. This new funding aims to support alumni to make a positive impact in their communities.

The grant will support innovative ideas, events, small-scale research projects, and capacity-building activities designed to assist alumni to improve the socio-economic wellbeing and livelihoods of marginalised communities. It also funds initiatives promoting gender equality, disability and social inclusion practices or establishing Communities of Practice (COP) aligned with the development priorities of Solomon Islands.

This is a great opportunity for Alumni to bring their ideas to life and to contribute to the development of Solomon Islands.

Applications are open until 8 December 2024. An online information session for interested alumni will be held on 18 November 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.

Thirteen young entrepreneurs from the Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands (YECSI) have strengthened their business and customer service skills after completing a Collaborative Customer Care course with the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC). The training, facilitated by APTC and organized by YECSI, aimed to equip young business owners with essential customer service strategies. Nine young women business owners were among the 13 participants, reflecting the program’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.
