Currently, Sasape Shipyard stands as the largest employer in Central Province, providing jobs for over thirty individuals. The shipyard boasts the potential to offer slipping facilities for vessels up to 500 tonnes, along with a comprehensive range of repair and maintenance services.

Upon completion of the rehabilitation project next year, the shipyard will not only cater to domestic and international vessels but also transform the Solomon Islands into a regional hub for vessel maintenance services. This will lead to increased job opportunities for residents.
