Youth Entrepreneurship Awareness Workshops Inspire Western Province Youths

Young people in Western Province have been encouraged to explore entrepreneurship as a pathway to empowerment and self-reliance through a series of awareness workshops delivered in Rarumana, Paelonge, and Gizo Town.

The Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands (YECSI), in partnership with Plan International Solomon Islands and the Solomon Islands National Youth Congress’ Girls Tekem Akson lo Climate Change (GTACC) project, facilitated the workshops to engage GTACC youths on business innovation and leadership.

The awareness sessions aimed to introduce participants to YECSI and the Western Province Young Entrepreneurs Council (WPYEC), outlining their purpose, structure, and the opportunities available to aspiring young business owners.

Through storytelling, interactive group activities, and real-life success stories from local entrepreneurs, participants were encouraged to think creatively, identify solutions to community challenges, and consider starting their own ventures.

YECSI said the collaboration demonstrates the shared commitment of YECSI, WPYEC, and GTACC to building a resilient generation of young leaders capable of driving social and economic change in their communities.

The workshops are part of an ongoing effort to empower youth in the Solomon Islands, equipping them with the knowledge and mindset needed to succeed in a competitive and changing world.
